Mark is a Managing Partner at Travelers Capital Corporation responsible for leading the origination and execution of structured finance transactions in the Canadian alternative energy sector and overseeing the development of innovative financing solutions and products for the market. Mark brings over thirty years of structured and project finance experience in the renewable energy and natural resources industries.
He started his career with Citibank in Toronto and held positions of increasing responsibility with UBS, ABN AMRO, BMO and GE Energy Financial Services before co-founding Travelers Capital in 2010. He has played a key role in the execution of over $7 billion of financing since 1988 including many hydro, wind and solar projects for clients across Canada. Mark holds an MBA and BSc. (Physics) degree from the University of British Columbia.
Daniel is Senior Director, Business Development at Travelers Capital Corporation responsible for origination and structuring of structured finance transactions, as well as provision of advisory services to participants in the North American power and energy infrastructure sector. Daniel is based in Toronto and is Travelers Capital’s lead in Central and Eastern Canada.
Before joining Travelers Capital, Daniel was a lawyer practicing from 2011 to 2017 in the Banking and Energy & Infrastructure groups of Torys LLP in Toronto where he advised lenders, sponsors, developers and investors on a wide range of project finance, project development and infrastructure transactions. At Torys, Daniel was responsible for leading negotiation and execution of several billion dollars worth of deals as well as providing ongoing legal and strategic business advice to clients at various stages of project development and finance. During that time, he also spent 7 months on secondment as in-house counsel for The Bank of Nova Scotia where, among other functions, he was lead counsel for the bank’s precious and base metals trading and finance group. Dan holds a BA from McGill University and JD from Queen’s University.
Marie-Claude is Vice-President at Travelers Capital Corporation responsible for execution of project financing opportunities in the renewable energy sector. She started her career as a consulting engineer before joining Intrawest in 2005. As part of the Business Development and then the Corporate Finance group, Marie-Claude played an integral part of the teams that took Intrawest private in 2007, refinanced the company’s debt facilities in 2008 and 2010, and completed the Whistler/Blackcomb IPO in 2010.
In addition to her involvement in corporate transactions, Marie-Claude was responsible for the real estate division’s project financing portfolio and helped secure and administer in excess of $800M in construction loans. Marie-Claude is a CFA charterholder, holds an MBA from HEC Montreal and a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University.
Brendan began his career with Travelers Capital Corporation in 2016 after obtaining his BMOS degree with Specialization in Finance from The University of Western Ontario. Brendan authors the financial models used to underwrite various debt products as well as performs due-diligence and manages communication between various parties involved in the project development and financing process. Brendan has also taken on a larger role in business development, researching the feasibility of various business opportunities in relative markets. Post-closing, Brendan handles all the loan administration for Travelers Capital.
